Mon ami Hans Schaap has made a beautiful sculpture of Django .
One is going to the National Jazz Museum in Harlem NY.
They were very happy with it.
Check it out.

btw this is not spam, I'm just happy for him

Very nice !

But the "official" bronze is in Samois, it is a bust : http://unestatuepourdjango.blogspot.com/

I very much like your firend's sculpture, that looks like Django with a proper selmer guitar, bravo !

I think he doesnt know that there already was a statue.
He was finished in februari I think with the first bronze but it was perfected around may I think, the website is running since august.

The first clay version was even better than this bronze.
He made me a version of another material, synthetic 2 component stuff.
Very nice as well, also on a marble socket.

Hum Mitch

On the clay models Hans made, the details like moustache and righthand were very nice and really resembled Django, as we know him from pictures on the computer.
But when bronze is coming in, these details go a little to the background.

However, I think his statue is very good looking and for my personal taste I would have prefered to see Hans' sculpture in Samois.
But the world keeps on turning :-)
Have a nice weekend, friends

He has showed a few pics @ Bireli and Stochelo , by the way, when they were playing in Amsterdam 2 months ago , and they loved it.
Bireli wanted to buy one immediately, although Hans wanted to it give him, he insisted to pay for it.

How cool is that? :D
