Diminished chords are 4-note chords that are widely used in Manouche music. Their characteristic is that each note is exactly separated of a minor third from the next one. That means that chords and arpeggios can easily be inversed without changing the shape and fingering, just fretting 3 frets away is enough. They are mostly played diagonally.
