At beginings of 2012 we will do a clinic on experiencing the REAL Django Reinhardt's sound.
First of all we will hear the master through the real old way: HMV 102 gramophone(the best ever to be produced) and mint time-machine 78rpm records. Have you ever done that? You'll get a surprise doing it and there's a reason why.
Then we will experience with the acoustic tone with at least 5 original selmer guitars from deferent eras. Compare it's sounds with the records etc.... Have you ever wondered how a guitar similar to the Rome sessions sounded compared to a '38 minor swing one? That's the idea. We will learn a LOT on the original selmer sound.
After this we will go for the electric sound:
We have mint 50's and 60's stimer pickups as well as original stimer amps. Have you ever wondered why Django didn't like american guitars? Well, we've got two original '35 and '37 Charlie Christian guitars as well as one original gibson amp and will try to discover that.
If that wouldn't be enough we will give a concert with all this stuff and record a live DVD. Come on! Have you ever seen a DVD where the player changes his super cool axe guitar each song???
This will be in Barcelona town and you're the most welcome!! Please inquire if interested. Cheers!
Biel ballester.
Moi je dis bravo Biel !
